9 steps to a JOYFUL season
|
December 2008
|
|
Greetings!
Now more than ever, embrace this season of joy. Take time to think about what JOY means to you and your family. Use that as the foundation for you holiday decorating & festivities. Cheers!
|
Joy is Simple.
A simple message I assembled with shaped twigs and leaves while on a recent morning walk with my dog reminded me how beauty lies in the everyday and the fallen twigs of life. Bring that spirit to your holiday decorating.
Try a host of simple candlesticks assembled on the mantel or make a crackling environmentally-friendly fire(look for JAVA, the fire logs made from recycled coffee grounds) to set the mood.
Add a simple message of Peace, Cheer
or Joy
made from found twigs, pine cones or leaves
and display your wishes for all to see. This year our families are making a commitment to a simple joyous holiday.

| 9 steps to bring Back the Joy:
1. Pick a word to describe how you want to feel this season (contented, playful, joyful) and write it down, Hang up in a place you will see throughout your day.
2. Create a positive mood and gift giving focus for your family. Suggest sharing the giving of time and talent instead
of things.
3. Stay organized.Set up a gift giving & decorating station.
4. Use only a third of your decorations. Keep the look focused and uncluttered.
5. Make it easy to do, to find or let go.
6. Breathe deeply and feel the joy.
7.Play favorite music while you decorate and create as a family.
8. Share friendship- make cookies or jam together.
9. Use special family photos and treasures in your decorating to keep your family at the center of your celebration.
